These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SamuAI website at samuai.dev, the SamuAI browser extension, and the SamuAI API (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

SamuAI provides automated security analysis of software tools including Chrome extensions, VS Code plugins, npm packages, and MCP servers. We generate risk scores based on publicly available information such as permissions, developer metadata, and privacy policies.

Important: SamuAI scores are informational only. They are not a guarantee of safety or security. A high score does not mean a tool is safe to use, and a low score does not mean a tool is malicious. Scores are based on automated analysis of publicly available data and may not reflect all risks. You should always exercise your own judgment when installing software.

2. Accounts

You may use some features of the Service without an account. Creating an account gives you access to additional features like scan history and monitoring.

When you create an account, you must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for abusive purposes.

3. Plans and Billing

The Service offers free and paid plans. Free accounts are limited to 3 scans per day. Paid plans (Pro and Org) provide additional features as described on the pricing page.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

We may change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes do not apply retroactively.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• •Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others
• •Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or security measures
• •Scrape or bulk-download scan results without API authorization
• •Use the Service to create a competing product using our data
• •Submit false or misleading information to manipulate scores
• •Use the API in a way that degrades the Service for others

5. API Usage

The SamuAI API is available to Pro and Org plan subscribers. API keys are personal and must not be shared. API usage is subject to rate limits as documented.

We reserve the right to revoke API access for accounts that abuse the API, exceed reasonable usage limits, or violate these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, scoring algorithms, and branding, is owned by SamuAI. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

Scan results may be shared publicly (e.g., embedding a badge on your website or sharing a report link). Attribution to SamuAI is appreciated but not required.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of scan results. Risk scores are generated automatically and may contain errors. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on SamuAI scores.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAMUAI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SamuAI harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of California.
